Details

The Recreation program is intended to give participants an introduction to the sport of artistic swimming. We have combined some essential skills with the Artistic Swimming AquaGo program.

Each session includes a one-hour class per week. We offer these sessions two to three times per year (Fall, Winter, and/or Spring). In each lesson your child can expect to participate in stretching, warm-up, review, and practice, learning new skills, routine development, and a variety of games and activities. Each session includes one competition and a water show.

We follow the Ontario Artistic Swimming Aqua-Go program with the LTAD (Long Term Athlete Development) model in mind. The program addresses each of the 5 Basic S’s of Training and Performance: Strength, Stamina, Suppleness, Speed, and Skill. In addition, we have added a 6th S: Social, as teamwork is so key in artistic swimming.

Swimmers in our recreational program will learn various basic skills and work on a short routine. On the last day of classes, swimmers will be tested for their Ontario Artistic Swimming badge and will perform their routine.
